Quick Quotes
Q. Nicole Felce is with us now at the 2026 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Nicole, you will play the weekend here at Hazeltine. How does that feel?
NICOLE FELCE: Surreal. Still trying to get all the thoughts. But, yeah, it's unbelievable. Truly a blessing. Something I never could have imagined.
So to say that I'm playing the weekend in this major championship, it's huge.
Q. I don't know if you have reflected what it means for and you the other professionals, too, the fact it's been seven years --
NICOLE FELCE: Has it?
Q. -- since somebody made the cut?
NICOLE FELCE: I knew it's been a while. Didn't know it's been that long. Wow, that's huge.
And like I said, it's just absolutely surreal. Yeah, I think, like you said, it's a good representation of that, yeah.
Q. What kind of reactions do you expect from your students, from your club, from your people?
NICOLE FELCE: Definitely good ones for sure. All the members and students at my club have been really supportive of me. All the staff have been great, so they're going to be really thrilled.
Q. What do you think worked for you today? What was the thing this made you play like you played today?
NICOLE FELCE: I mean, I knew I had to shoot a couple under to do it, so I just kind of stuck to my game plan and just trusted every shot, trusted my caddie, and trusted what I was doing.
I mean, my putting was really working for me and that's what did it today for sure.
Q. Since it's the shot, the hole that may have got you in, can you talk about the birdie on your 16th hole, the par-5?
NICOLE FELCE: Yeah, yeah. It was great. I was kind of in between a 4- or 5-iron on my second shot there. Talked about it with my caddie and we were like, you know, just kind of getting something, even if it's a little short of the green just so I can score; not being back in that bunker back there.
So kind of did that. I mean, it was in the rough so had a pretty good lie. Chipped it out. Yeah, I knew I needed that, so that was huge. Definitely coming down the stretch I was like, if I need to go for it, I will.
Q. Were your playing competitors urging you on talking to you or what was that like with them?
NICOLE FELCE: Yeah, they're awesome. I played junior golf with Amari when I was really young, so we were catching up on that. Yeah, they were really supportive and awesome and we had a good time. Just chatting friends out there. It was good.
Q. What do you now? Because take a deep breath and enjoy the fact you got in, but all of a sudden still got two more rounds that you can even accomplish more.
NICOLE FELCE: Yeah, absolutely. Playing the weekend, going into this week playing the weekend was the goal, so to be in that position, just kind of enjoying every moment and seeing how low I can go and seeing what I can do out there. Seeing what God has planned.
Q. Is there a new goal? What would you say now?
NICOLE FELCE: I mean, maybe. I'm +1 for the tournament so maybe finish under for the tournament. That would be a good goal. I think it's attainable.
Q. Yeah, we saw a cool video, kind of a letter to the pros where you read a note from one of your students.
NICOLE FELCE: Yeah.
Q. And you still have plenty more golf to go, but what would be your message to them watching you now and seeing what you accomplished, but, again, like so much more to accomplish in what you can do? What would be your message to them?
NICOLE FELCE: Yeah, I mean, hard work pays off. I played in Frisco last year and obviously was really tough conditions out there, but I think in that year I grew a lot as a player and got a lot better with things that I needed to improve on.
So definitely just put in the work, put in the reps, and they'll show. Just like today. I mean, everything kind of showed up at the right time and it was great.
