Hazeltine National Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Brooke Henderson is with us now at the 2026 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Brooke, 7-under through the first two days. How you feeling going into the weekend?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, definitely very happy how I played so far in this championship. It's been nice to have the ball striking in a really good spot and give myself a lot of birdie looks. Nice to get three to finish. That really makes the round feel whole lot better.

It's fun to see my name on the leaderboard again and so hopefully have a good weekend. Really looking forward to it.

Q. Can you talk about the last three birdies and what goes through your head when you're going like that, when things are happening, no?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, it was really nice that the tees were up on 7 so the par-5 became reachable. Was able to hit it in two, and then just two-putt for birdie, so that was a nice way get the momentum going. Then two really nice putts to finish on 8 and 9.

I feel like I gave myself so many good looks earlier in the day but didn't have the putts fall.

To see them go in at the end definitely puts a smile on my face.

Q. You've been in contention several times and won, too, no? Is there something about the KPMG Women's PGA Championship that is special to you?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I think it all started when I received a sponsor's invite in 2015. Ended up finishing T5 that week, the next year, won, and then after that I've had quite a few different Top 10s.

I feel like there is just great energy here, great atmosphere. It's all really fun to play iconic and beautiful golf courses like this one here this week. They just treat the players really well. The purse has always been very big and they continue to push the envelope for us, which is great.

The coverage has been awesome too, and T-Mobile has stepped up in that way, too, which I'm a partner of theirs so really proud of that.

Q. Nice round. You said your ball striking is starting to feel like it used to. Do you have a swing thought?

BROOKE HENDERSON: I try not to have any thoughts when I'm swinging. Try to just be like very much a feel player. It's been nice that things have finally started to click. It's been a little while. Last two days it's felt really nice. Been in a good spot.

So hopefully it'll continue over the weekend and just continue to get better.

Q. Was there something that your dad spotted at some point when you were home working him?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I think it's just been a team with my sister, my new caddie, Ryan, my dad, trying to come up with stuff together and just trying to minimize errors and get it back to a spot.

I feel like we worked really hard all together, so it's nice to see some improvement and nice to see some progress.

Q. When you see a five-, six-, seven-shot gap between you and the top of the board, what's the chasing mindset that you take into a third and final round?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, it's halfway done. She had a great first half, so hopefully I can just have a great second half to try to make up the difference. I feel like overall the way I've been playing the course has been really solid, so just hopefully make a few more birdies and climb the board.

Q. How have you been playing the course that's been so solid for you?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I think we been picking great spots off the fairway and into the greens, and I've been able to execute and hit those spots, which has been really nice, especially around a stressful golf course. You want to be able it be hitting your spots.

So far so good there. Just continue the next two days.

Q. Were you able to FaceTime Sahalee yesterday and did you catch up at home at all?

BROOKE HENDERSON: I haven't FaceTimed her yet, but so many photos and just talking to my family. I'm really excited to see her next week, early next week, yeah, hopefully FaceTime soon.
