Quick Quotes

Q. Karis Davidson is with us now at the 2026 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Karis, your thoughts please on your second round?

KARIS DAVIDSON: Yeah, today felt -- I felt a little bit under pressure today actually. I've never been in contention in a major after the first round, so it was a little bit of a different experience for me.

And I hit two bad shots that cost me two double address today but really grinded in the middle and made a couple about birdies. Still seems like I'm in contention, so I think it was good to get that pressure out of the way today, and then I can hopefully have a couple good rounds on the weekend.

Q. Will you say, I mean, surviving those two double bogeys and not letting them destroy you is part of what you were talking about yesterday?

KARIS DAVIDSON: Yeah, definitely. I just hit two bad shots and just cost me two doubles. The rest was so good, so I just have to focus on the positives of the day.

Q. Can you talk a little bit about the Aussie collective this week. I know you're staying together, some of you, you're having dinners, doing all these things. Tell us a little bit about it and how much does it help you?

KARIS DAVIDSON: Yeah, well Australia is so far from America, so it's really nice to have like a little family on tour. We travel together, stay together, have dinners together. I think it definitely helps. You feel like you're more part of a team because golf is such an individual sport.

So definitely helps.

Q. Who are you staying with this week?

KARIS DAVIDSON: Greeny and her husband Jarryd, Olivia Cowan, and Grace Kim.

Q. So Olivia is an adopted Aussie?

KARIS DAVIDSON: Yeah, she's an adopted Aussie.

Q. What is the most fun part that you have? What are the things that you do together?

KARIS DAVIDSON: I guess just being at the house. We're always laughing about something. We've got like a few group chats on the go, and just the whole time, you know, the mood is really up, and even when it's down, we're there for each other. So, yeah, it's really nice.

Q. Yeah, I just want to ask about yesterday. You and Olivia were talking about ordering dinner quick there. I know sometimes it's a tight turnaround from afternoon wave to morning wave. Can you just give us an inside scoop of what that looks like?

KARIS DAVIDSON: I mean, obviously yesterday's turn around the was really quick because we were off at 7:00, so we were both up at 4:30 this morning. So quickly ordered like a Greek bowl and it was really good. So try and order ubereats so it arrives when we get home, treatment, shower, straight to bed.

Q. Back at it in the morning.

KARIS DAVIDSON: Yeah, pretty much.

Q. Just curious, so right out of the bat, it was early, did that double bogey shake you or just kind of like almost kind of wake you up? You then played 14 holes in 2-under.

KARIS DAVIDSON: Definitely brought me down back it earth. Because yesterday felt really smooth and then obviously starting with a double I was like ah, crap. Then just felt like a grind after that. I felt like it was really tough this morning with the dew on the grass. It was playing longer.

So, yeah, I just kind of had to really focus after that double start definitely.

Q. Do you think this course is showing its strength a little more than it did Thursday? Still seemed -- that rain we got Tuesday really softened the greens.

KARIS DAVIDSON: Yeah.

Q. Is this course showing a little bit of its teeth now?

KARIS DAVIDSON: I think this morning it definitely did, from what I felt anyway. Few trickier pins today definitely.

But I think this afternoon if someone is hitting it good they'll still be able to shoot a pretty low score I would say.
