Quick Quotes

Q. Hye-Jin Choi is with us now at the 2026 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Really solid start for you. What did you do out there well today?

HYE-JIN CHOI: I'm really satisfied with my round today, especially there was not much missed shots. So I had a lot of birdie chances, and it was a good round today.

Q. Compared with practice and what you planned for this week, how did it play today? Was it what you expected?

HYE-JIN CHOI: This week I tried to practice a lot on the course and I also thought about how I should hit every day.

As I practiced and practiced, I knew how to -- and I understand how to play in the rough and green, so today I just concentrated on that.

Q. It looks like playing from the rough has been key today because you didn't hit many fairways, but hit a lot of greens. How did that work for you today?

HYE-JIN CHOI: Actually I thought that I had made a lot of fairways today actually. I have missed couple holes, but actually I was in bunkers so it was okay. So I thought it was better to be in bunker than the rough.
