TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP

June 25, 2026

Bud Cauley

Cromwell, Connecticut, USA

TPC River Highlands

Quick Quotes

Q. Just walk us through the round. Nice stretch on the back nine.

BUD CAULEY: Yeah, I hit it really solid all day. I had a couple good looks on the front and the putts just slid by. Then, yeah, was able to get kind of three in a row there on the back. Yeah, even had some good looks in the last couple holes. I felt like I played really solid all day.

Q. What's the confidence level at? Same as it was after the win?

BUD CAULEY: I just try to approach every week as a new one. Obviously last week was a long week at the U.S. Open, tough conditions and a tough golf course. Yeah, I love playing here. I was just told it's my 10th time here, so I love coming here, I love the golf course, so he happy to be here.

Q. And confidence-wise, do you feel different, like a different player now than a month and a half ago?

BUD CAULEY: Not really. Obviously to get my first win was great, but you kind of start over from scratch every week. I was joking earlier that it kind of feels like a long time ago now, after getting my butt kicked at the U.S. Open last week. But, yeah, obviously it's something that I'll be able to draw ongoing forward and know -- I always believed I could do it, but having done it now and proved it to myself I think will only help.

Q. Your 10th trip here, what's the key to playing this course for you?

BUD CAULEY: Yeah, I think definitely ball striking. You don't need driver on every hole, but you really have to get it in the fairway. The greens are small, you have to get it in the right spot. So I really think ball striking and kind of mid irons are really important. Then obviously got to hole the putt after that.

Q. Courses on TOUR that are sort of, for lack of a word, democratic, where it seems like any type of player can win, what other courses would you put in the vein with this one where that's the case?

BUD CAULEY: Yeah, it does, it kind of reminds you of like a Colonial, even a PGA National down where I live, or Hilton Head, those types of places -- Waialae. Yeah, a place where you don't need driver on every hole and really controlling your golf ball and where you position it is very important.
