Q. Walk us through your round a little bit. Great end to the round, but pretty solid overall.

VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, no, there was a lot of good stuff today. Hit some nice shots early on there, I just didn't make any putts the first three holes. I hit an okay drive but it was like a step in the rough and it was completely buried, and hit it short of the green and then I duffed my chip there and had to make an up-and-down for a bogey. Yeah, the front nine was a little bit tough, I felt like I played way better than the score, but then the birdie on 9 was nice. I rolled in a good putt on 11. Obviously the finish was really nice. Making a putt on 15 and then stuffing an iron shot in there on 16 and another good wedge shot on 18. So it was a really good finish to the day.

Q. What do you feel are the keys to playing well at this course?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, you can, you got to do everything well around here. You can certainly miss it in some spots and be okay, it's one of those where if you're scoring it well you can kind of overcome some maybe some bad shots here and there. But then there's also a handful of places where you're standing over the ball and you know that you have to pull off a great shot. Like, for example, I think the second shot into 13 is an awesome second shot. 14 tee shot is kind of awkward for me. 15 tee shot is a great tee shot. Even on 17, even if you're standing over there with a 4-iron, it's still messing with your head a little bit. So there's a lot of just great tee shots out here, if you put yourself in positions you can attack the pins and then you need your putter to get hot.

Q. Sort of a big-picture question, this course it seems like it's kind of wide open, like any type of player could win here. What other courses on TOUR would you put in that same category?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, I haven't played the redesign of Colonial, but Colonial certainly was one of those places. Harbour Town comes to mind. Another really good golf course we play is the Memphis course, Southwind, that's another just wonderful golf course. Yeah, just anything that's tree lined, it doesn't need to be super long, you have small greens and the penalty for missing those small greens, even if you have a wedge or 9-iron in your hand, it's very tricky. You think you're going to show up here and just shoot, 6-, 7-, 8-under and then suddenly you're 2-over at the tournament and you don't know what's going on. But that's kind of the genius of those courses.

Q. What's the distraction level going to be like tomorrow with the World Cup going on?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: I mean, I'm obviously rooting for my team, but I'm not the most soccer inclined. I don't really keep up too much. But I'm rooting for the boys, but I'll be focused on my own game tomorrow and then hopefully I'll have a nice day and I can sit by the TV and watch the guys.
