TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP

June 25, 2026

Scottie Scheffler

Cromwell, Connecticut, USA

TPC River Highlands

Quick Quotes

Q. When was the last time or has there ever been a time where you forgot a belt before a round?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I've definitely forgotten stuff, but this was probably an all-time week to forget my belt, just in how convenient it is to get from the house to the course. So that might be part of the reason why I forgot it, just wasn't thinking when I left this morning, but, yeah, fortunately.

Q. Based on what you saw on the range this morning was this about when what you were expecting the course to play, the conditions to go like and how you thought it would play?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, the greens firmed up I would say maybe a touch quicker than I thought they could have, so that was nice. As long as we don't get any rain the next couple days should continue to try out and get firmer and faster.

Q. You hit a lot of greens in regulation today, you were really good in every facet of strokes gained, is there one phase of your game that when it clicks the others sort of domino and that can happen?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Not really. I mean, I would love it if there was an answer like that, but golf's pretty challenging and every day's different and today, yeah, I'm glad the stats lined up with that because I felt like I did a lot of stuff pretty well definitely gave myself a lot of looks, which was nice around this golf course and was able to hole a couple of 'em as well.

Q. How important is it to get off to a fast start here?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: When the scoring is lower it can be harder and harder to play catch up. I feel like when you play a golf course where even par's going to be the winning score at the end of the week there's always those days where somebody figures it out. When you look at the low rounds from last week's U.S. Open, there's still a few of 'em, or at least one guy seems to figure it out each day, so you feel like you can catch up a little bit easier. Sometimes here you get so far behind you can only shoot so low on some of these golf courses, so it's important to keep pace.

Q. Is it a challenge going week-to-week from Shinnecock to here where you just mentioned the scores are high?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: No, because, I mean, no matter what, you're still trying to hit good golf shots, and depending upon the course, sometimes the reward is a bit different. No matter what, on last week's course and this golf course, if you're hitting good shots you're going to get rewarded.

Q. How relaxing is it to play with Sam and how has that changed over the years, the relationship of playing together?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I mean, not really. We've known each other a long time, so it's always fun. We actually hadn't played in competition in quite awhile. So it was fun being out there today. Should be hopefully we'll keep -- Sam played solid today as well, so hopefully we'll keep the momentum going for tomorrow.
