WOMEN’S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

June 25, 2026

Lauren Crump

Gullane, East Lothian, Scotland, United Kingdom

Quick Quotes

Q. Amazing performance. You've got so much to be proud of.

LAUREN CRUMP: Yes. Although I didn't win, I've still got a lot to learn. I'm really proud of how I finished. To take it out into the 18th was pretty amazing.

Q. She's the one that everyone's looking at, the target. For you to push it all away like that, did you think that you were capable of that?

LAUREN CRUMP: Yeah, definitely. Like the last few holes I felt like, if I could get to like 1- or 2-down with like three or four to play, that I could have a chance.

Just to see her play is pretty amazing.

Q. Was there any particular holes or things that you were really pleased with yourself with what you did?

LAUREN CRUMP: Because it was quite windy out there, I thought my course management, especially on downwind holes, was quite good and judging my club selection, and I did hole quite a few putts. So I'm quite proud about that.

Q. It's been a phenomenal two weeks. That result last week as well.

LAUREN CRUMP: When I won ANNIKA, I was pretty hyped coming into this event and obviously did quite well in the stroke play. My goal was to get through the stroke play so whatever happened in the match play just happened.

Q. It must give you loads of encouragement to believe that your future is bright. You must be full of belief right now.

LAUREN CRUMP: Yeah, I beat two really good girls yesterday and today, and playing against Farah was -- well, obviously she's the best. If I could give her a game, that's pretty much what I'm going to do.

Q. What's next for you?

LAUREN CRUMP: European team championships, which is again stroke play and then match play. So lots to learn from here going into the match play.

Q. What did you learn from Farah, do you think, today?

LAUREN CRUMP: Definitely when she missed a putt or gives me a hole, to take advantage of that. I think sometimes I underestimated the severity of needing to hole that putt.
