NBA DRAFT

June 23, 2026

Christian Anderson Jr.

Brooklyn, New York, USA

Q. If you want to talk about your emotions tonight, what's going through your head?

CHRISTIAN ANDERSON JR.: A little bit of everything. Just super excited. Felt like I was sitting at that table for the longest time, but being finally able to get my name called and obviously go to a great organization, it was super surreal.

Q. Obviously you're not the only Hornets' rookie that gets to go play there. You got drafted as well with another rookie. What's that experience going to be like to bond with somebody on the team that's in a very similar situation as you?

CHRISTIAN ANDERSON JR.: Hey, that's my teammate [Hannes Steinbach]. We played the [German] national team together, and he's a super fun guy to bond with on and off the court. Played with each other for the past three years, and we already know each other's game. Just going into this process in the same organization is crazy.

I can't wait to get ready to work and be ready to go out there and put my best foot forward.

Q. What's your commitment to German national team now that you're in the NBA?

CHRISTIAN ANDERSON JR.: Yeah, I'm always going to invest everything I got into the German national team. I might not play this year, but I'm always going to try to play for the team whenever I can. And especially with Hannes on the team, we can make that decision at the same time. It's going to be a super fun process and journey to go through.

Q. First of all, congratulations. I've heard you're one of the best pure shooters, threes. What is the key to your success in shooting?

CHRISTIAN ANDERSON JR.: I've been working on it ever since I'm young. I've always been the best shooter everywhere I went. Just being in the gym countless hours, working on my shot when it didn't feel right. Going to the gym, working on my shot if I didn't shoot good in the game. Going back to the gym the same night, working on my shot. I put so many hours into developing and trying to get to the point where my shot felt perfect.

I've been doing that my whole life, and I feel like that's the biggest secret to my success.
