Brooklyn, New York, USA
Q. Darius, in New York, thought you would be a Brooklyn Net. What was your reaction when 6 came and went and it wasn't Brooklyn?
DARIUS ACUFF JR.: I was good wherever I went. It wasn't like a bad reaction on it. They picked a great player. but I'm excited to be a King. That's all I'm focused on.
Q. I wanted to hear more about what you expect playing for the Kings and what you would like to bring in your first year?
DARIUS ACUFF JR.: Just a lot of excitement, for sure. Want to bring a winning player in. Just try to come in and change the organization. But definitely excited play with those guys and be with the organization.
Q. You had an incredible freshman season, obviously. How are you thinking about continuing with that success in your rookie year, and what conversation have you had with the Kings' organization and how they plan to utilize you next year?
DARIUS ACUFF JR.: I'm definitely trying to continue it. Try to continue to be great. Just trying to come in and win, like I said. But definitely see myself playing a big role on the team. Just excited to be there, for sure.
Q. You've gone from IMG to USA Basketball to Arkansas to getting drafted No. 7. Which experience prepared you the most for this moment?
DARIUS ACUFF JR.: Most definitely growing up in Detroit more than anything prepared me for this moment, I would say. Just came a long way. It's been a dream come true to be here. But everything I went through in life, it mattered. It brought me to this moment. So I'm excited.
