This kind of tournament is on everyone’s radar, especially if you’re British. It’s one that everyone wants to get their hands on.

Being leading qualifier, the confidence going into the match play stages is so much higher. I know that I’m playing well, hitting it good and holing so many putts. It’s really good.

I feel like my ball-striking was really good. I hit most fairways, most greens and I holed a lot of putts. I’ve been working on my putting a lot, so that helps. You obviously need to hole putts around here, especially in the match play stages to win holes.

There was one shot on hole 8, I was in the front bunker and I had 50 yards. It was right up against the lip. I hit my 50 degree out, and it rolled out to three feet. So I made my par on a pretty tough hole. I was buzzing with that.

We were gutted not to get the result at the Curtis Cup, but it was such an amazing week. It was better than I could ever have imagined. You dream of being in a team like that when you’re little. I feel like playing that week has given me so much confidence in my game, not just for the week, but for turning pro at the end of the year as well. It was just an amazing experience out there.

I played the Women’s Amateur at Nairn last year, but I missed the cut. I struggled up there.

But what’s been kind of helpful this week is that I haven’t played a links course that hasn’t had any wind on it for a long time. It’s easier to plot your way around this course, just try and miss the bunkers.
