RIANNE MALIXI: I was just hitting greens. I wasn’t hitting the most fabulous iron shots out there, but I stayed really patient. I made a couple of long putts, saved a couple of pars. I credit that to my patience.

It’s qualifying on the first two days. The real game starts tomorrow with match play. So we’ll see how that goes.

I won the U.S. Women’s Amateur two years ago, so trying to also win this week is a motivation for sure. But I’m taking it one shot at a time. Anything can happen in match play, so I’ll just do the best that I can.

I was expecting colder weather this week, and I was expecting the wind to blow, but it’s been perfect. I love the course.

The Scots are great. They’re really nice people to hang around with. The course is in fabulous shape. It’s a very gettable course, but at the same time it has its tricks. So you have to be really smart about it.
