Quick Quotes
Q. You must be pleased with your round.
MEJA ORTENGREN: Yes, pleased.
Q. One off the lead?
MEJA ORTENGREN: I have no clue. I don't check the scores.
Q. You don't like checking it?
MEJA ORTENGREN: I do once in a while, but in the qualifying round, I really don't.
Q. What was the toughest bit? Talk us through your round.
MEJA ORTENGREN: Quite steady today. Didn't hit the driver as good as yesterday today. Hit a few more in the bunkers off the tee, but I just took my medicine and went on.
Then I had some really good approaches coming down to make some birdies that was really needed.
Q. Was there any particular shot that you were proud of?
MEJA ORTENGREN: I feel like I had a really good shot into, what is that, 12? After making bogey on 11, hitting that one on close and getting a birdie there was so important.
Q. It felt like the wind was getting up a little bit towards the end. You noticed that?
MEJA ORTENGREN: Yeah, we did, but it's blowing less than I expected and anticipated coming here. I was a little bit terrified coming to Muirfield, and just seeing the course for the first time in like no wind conditions was kind of crazy.
Then the wind was blowing a little bit harder on the back nine, and I feel like that is how the course should be played.
Q. Do you think that will maybe stand you in good stead for the rest of the week?
MEJA ORTENGREN: I think so, yeah. I think getting a feel for how the course is playing in the wind is really important coming down into match play.
Q. What are your hopes for the rest of the week?
MEJA ORTENGREN: I'm just going to take it day by day and match by match, but I'm really excited for the week, and hopefully I'll end up in the match for the championship.
