Quick Quotes
Q. So first U.S. Open. Tying for the Low Am here at a place like Shinnecock, what does that mean to you?
RYDER COWAN: Yeah, it means a lot. I'll tell you what I just told them. It means a lot to me. It's Father's Day, and it means a lot to me that I have a lot of people up here watching and supporting me. That means the most to me.
So it's definitely up there. I mean, it's a big accomplishment for me, but I'm just glad and happy and thankful that I have people out here supporting.
Q. What do you think an achievement like this does for your golf career moving forward?
RYDER COWAN: What I think it does, it gives me a lot of confidence and just that I know I can come out here and compete with the best. I played good all week, but I definitely missed out in some spots. Like, I didn't play perfect golf, which no one does, but I feel like there's definitely some spots I can get better in.
That gives me a lot of confidence because knowing that I still played okay and came to compete against these guys and didn't have my best stuff is reassuring.
Q. What were your impressions of Shinnecock this week?
RYDER COWAN: Well, impressions were is that it's really hard. It's really hard, especially with wind. The course -- I mean, it's a great course. It sets you up, but if you put yourself out of position, you're going to be -- what's the word that I'm looking for that's appropriate -- screwed.
So I feel like I had to have a lot of patience this week, which I feel like I did a good job on. You know, Jules, my caddie, he kind of calmed me down a couple of times because I almost crashed out. Yeah, I think it was a great week.
