Q. Coming in T-11. Typically you finish pretty well during U.S. Opens. What is it about this week that really fits your game or mindset?

XANDER SCHAUFFELE: I mean, it's just a tough week for everyone. The course was really windy, and the greens, you know, the USGA set up the course really fair. Of course, a little bit of carnage is necessary at a U.S. Open.

Definitely played a little bit harder and firmer on the weekend. Definitely got the best of me. Just always looking forward to a chance to win this great championship.

Q. First Father's Day being a father. What does this mean to you having a new son and just talk to me about that.

XANDER SCHAUFFELE: Yeah, still doesn't feel real, to be completely honest. My kid is only 10 months old, so he has no idea what's going on.

You know, at some point down the road it'd be cool to be able to show him sort of what this week is all about and how hard it is and do something that would make him proud. He's still a little baby, so we've got a lot of time to go.

Q. Anything we're taking away this week for learnings or same old, keep grinding?

XANDER SCHAUFFELE: Keep grinding. There's a few mistakes that I made that I wish I could have back, just like pretty much everyone in this field, for the most part.

Just keep grinding and move on.
