Q. So 3-under on the front nine, but maybe walk me through the round.

SAM BURNS: Yeah, got off to a nice start. Hard 1 and 2. Had a good putt on 3. Then hit a really good 6-iron on 6 to make birdie. Nice up-and-down on 7. Then made a good putt on 8 and 9. Good save on 9.

Played pretty much the same on the back. I felt like a really solid round. Conditions just continued to get tougher and tougher.

Q. How would you say -- you ultimately made some moves today with your round. How would you say the course fare and your play fared today versus yesterday morning?

SAM BURNS: I would say I played pretty similar. Maybe holed a couple more putts today and just got tough there on the back nine. Just the condition of the greens, just all the traffic on them late in the day, but yeah, I think I played pretty similar.

Q. T-7 right now. What is the game plan going into the weekend?

SAM BURNS: Just get some rest tonight and yeah, kind of the same thing the next couple of days. Just try to get the ball in the fairway and give myself as many looks as possible on the greens.
