Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Jenny Bae after her second round at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. Really solid round today; no bogeys on the card. Can you just talk about what you felt like you had to do out there to make sure you kept the clean card?
JENNY BAE: I actually feel like today was really fun. My caddie and I joked a lot. I didn't really feel like I was in tense environment. It was kind of more of like a really smooth and just fun 18-hole round.
Q. And then you really picked it up on the front nine of the golf course but your second nine; made four birdies and hit every green in regulation. Talk about did you find something in that back nine or was it getting, like you said, into your round and being a little bit more comfortable?
JENNY BAE: I feel like for me being more comfortable really helped out there. There was a lot of wind. Conditions weren't exactly perfect for a golfer, but I feel like we pushed through really well.
A lot of it is thanks to my caddie. He really made sure I didn't really think of everything else that could have bothered me. He said, just think of the green, hit at the green, and you'll make a putt.
Q. And you're one our players out here who is a little bit more aggressive, makes a lot of birdies. This week you are doing the same; inside the top 10 right now. What about this golf course makes you feel like you can attack some pins?
JENNY BAE: I think the par-5s help. I feel like I'm one of the more longer hitters, and I feel like my distance really gives me the comfort of, okay, I can go for the pins, and worse case I'll be in the bunker or pin high.
So attacking everything gives me the best chance out there.
Q. You've been in contention a few times over these past couple years. Again, heading into the weekend now, what have you learned over the past couple starts heading into the weekend in contention that you're really trying to focus on now?
JENNY BAE: I feel like the biggest thing that I learned over the year was that just because I put myself in contention early doesn't mean that I'm going to keep it up. I still have two full rounds to play, and so I just have to go out there with the same mentality that I have every day.
Q. Mentioned how you're having fun today, joking around. Do you want to keep that energy further into the weekend or do you tend to play better if you flip that switch and attack it differently in later rounds?
JENNY BAE: I feel like I can do both really well. I think we're going to try to just keep the same process that we had the past two days. I think it worked really well out here.
Just hopefully do my best and see what happens.
