Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Lottie Woad after her second round at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. Very solid bogey-free round from you today. How tough is it to go bogey-free out there?
LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, definitely challenging. Wasn't as windy as yesterday, but definitely still there. So I think the pins were maybe a little more tricky so just had to play smart to a few of them.
But holed out pretty well. Left myself a few kind of testers for par, but managed to make those so it was nice.
Q. You haven't dropped a shot yet on any of the par-5s. How crucial is that to being successful out here?
LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, I mean, I think par-5s, you always want to play well on those most weeks. They're pretty gettable on this course but they can also catch you out too. There are some tough tee shots in there.
So I've hit the fairways on pretty much all of them, so I think that's probably been the key.
Q. Yeah. Not a lot of putts for you this week as well. Has that just been your approach game has been well or are you just rolling it in?
LOTTIE WOAD: I think a little bit of both. Definitely pretty good tee-to-green. Yesterday it was obviously more windy so missed a few more greens but made some good up and downs, so I think a little bit of both.
Q. Just besides the weather today, anything else kind of different today that really helped you get your stride and feel it out today?
LOTTIE WOAD: I think starting earlier in the morning the greens were a little softer and slower, and then they kind of sped up as the day went on.
So I think you can be a little more aggressive first thing.
Q. Six gummi bears today.
LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah.
Q. What's the go-to color?
LOTTIE WOAD: I don't really look. I just kind of like dip the hand in. But I think the pineapple ones are the best, but DT has been eating all those, so...
Q. Last one from me: Heading into the weekend once again in contention, are you getting more comfortable out here now like knowing you can win out here and all that kind of stuff?
LOTTIE WOAD: I think so, yeah. Been trying to get in contention a bit more. Feel like when I am in contention I've done pretty good so far, so just trying to keep that going. Yeah, I mean, definitely some chances out there to go pretty low.
Q. How important is a week like this heading up into KPMG and then Evian shortly after that?
LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, definitely important. I feel like I am still working out kind of how I want to play before majors, whether I want to go play an event or not. I think I'm finding out I do like playing the week before. When possible I want to do that to get the momentum going.
I think coming off a U.S. Open, which was obviously tough for four days there, it's nice to kind of go somewhere elsewhere it's a little bit more scorable and see those birdie putts go in before another major.
