Q. All right, here with Jennifer after her first round at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. Jen, looked like you got off to a shaky start and on eight the round completely flipped. Can you talk about what happened? Was it something in your swing or just getting more comfortable out there with the conditions?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: Yeah, honestly, like to start it was really windy. Had kind of bit of a stomach ache, so a little bit rough start to the beginning of the round.
But, yeah, I've never really been over par here, so it was a bit of a different feeling.
I don't know, walking down four fairway I heard a fan yell or say like, hey, you know this course. Like you got it. You can flip it. I think that was like, okay, like everybody here loves seeing me and I love being here, so kind of just reminded me of why I like being here.
They don't really care how I play. They just want to see me out there smiling and having fun. Kind of gave me a little bit of a relief.
Then, yeah, to come back on number eight and make the eagle, yeah, definitely flipped the whole round and gave me some confidence.
Q. You mentioned just how well you played here in the past, how much you like it. Do you feel like the course has played much different with this wind?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: I mean, honestly I've played this course in everything. I know when I won here, like it was this or even worse, and I went out and shot 8-under.
Like it's playable. It's a good golf course.
Q. And then talk about that. We've seen quite a few bogeys out here but we've also seen quite a few birdies. Is it just if you miss, you have to miss in the right spots to get up and down out here?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: Yeah, and it's a bit of a take-your-medicine type course. There is, like you said, a lot of birdies, a lot of birdie holes. Some holes are a little bit tougher, but most of them, like you can birdie a lot holes out here. I think, yeah, it's just taking your medicine on the few if you get out of position and then bouncing back.
Q. And then heading out probably pretty early tomorrow morning. Can you talk about just the momentum coming from a late to an early round? Do you like that or do you prefer maybe the opposite?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: Honestly, either/or. I think maybe a bit in my old age I prefer a little bit of recovery, but I don't know. It is what it is. I think for the majority of the year I feel like I've been afternoon-morning, so I kind of have the hang of it. I go to bed early anyway, so go grab food and go to bed. Kind of just is what it is.
