Q. Here with Julie Lopez Ramirez after her first round here at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. We got to talk about the ace on No. 13. Take us through the hole. What was going through your mind?

JULIA LOPEZ RAMIREZ: Yeah, no, so it was blowing pretty hard down there. It was a left-to-right wind and we got a number that was basically my full 7-iron. I was saying, oh, maybe it's a six. She was like, no, no, hit the seven. This is the club. Pitch like two meters short, like the perfect fade. Pitch two short, another bounce, and rolled in; throw the club up, hands in the air. I was like, no way.

Q. First career ace on the LPGA Tour but not your first. Part of the program is St. Jude's program for hole-in-ones. I can't remember the name exactly, but basically there is a donation that goes towards St. Jude's at the end of the year for CME. Just how honored are you now to be part of that group to donate to the charity?

JULIA LOPEZ RAMIREZ: No, honestly, that's like something that you're lucky to do. And especially having a hole-in-one, it's not the easiest thing to do, and especially to be part of that donation team is super excited and to be like my name and be supporting that, it's very cool.

Q. Lastly, take us through the round out there. A little tough out there condition-wise. Just what worked well?

JULIA LOPEZ RAMIREZ: Yeah, no, so it was quite windy and challenging out there. Especially early in the morning it was quite cold. I think I just told myself to just stay patient. It was going to be a hard day for everyone.

Played decent. Like I hit really good drivers and iron shots were really good. I felt like maybe I struggle a bit making a few more putts, but I guess the hole-in-one help on that. (Laughter.)

Yeah, I think it was a lot of consistent golf out there. Especially when you're playing wind it's very like you got to be comfortable and patient with it.

I felt like did I that job and have three more days to go.
