Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Celine Borge after her first round at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. Very solid bogey-free 4-under from you today in some tough conditions. What was the key to success to go bogey-free?
CELINE BORGE: Thank you. Yeah, I pretty much hit it quite straight today. I didn't miss that many greens. I didn't have to make too many up and downs, so that was nice.
Q. Coming off a solid finish last week at the Dow Championship. Any momentum carried over from last week into this one?
CELINE BORGE: Yeah, it was nice to have a little better tournament since my season hasn't been very good. It was nice to play with Polly and see it could work.
Q. What did you do to maybe keep yourself out of some of those bogey situations?
CELINE BORGE: I just tried to hit my normal golf, like normal shots. I didn't try to do anything special. Yeah.
Q. Just played your game.
CELINE BORGE: Yeah.
Q. How would you describe the conditions out there this morning?
CELINE BORGE: It was windy and cold so the ball was flying shorter, and tried to hit it like lower so it didn't get too affected by the wind.
Q. Did you have to make any other adjustments with clubs and things?
CELINE BORGE: Yeah, extra club, yeah.
Q. With the success you had last week, what's come together now for you over the last few weeks given the struggles you had in the few weeks leading up to that?
CELINE BORGE: Just trust that you do the right things. Keep working on the things that makes it go better, yeah.
Q. What are some of those things you've been working on?
CELINE BORGE: Controlling ball flight. So I hit too much draw, and then try to control that. And my putting, I've been working on the short putts.
Q. What usually attracts you guys to come and play in this tournament? Is this the weather you expected?
CELINE BORGE: No, because other years we been playing it's been very warm and firmer, rolling more. Yeah, it's different.
Q. Is it like a good thing or bad thing you think?
CELINE BORGE: I don't mind either way.
