TV Quick Quotes
Q. Here with two first-time winners on the LPGA Tour. You get it done as a duo. How special is it?
GINA KIM: Oh, my gosh, this has been the most fun week. It's been tough, and it's nice to have a really good friend to be able to do this by.
YANA WILSON: Yeah. We grinded it out this week. I feel like our games were really similar this week, so I feel like we kind of just trusted each other and it made it really easy this whole week just to shoot the lowest score out there.
So feels great.
Q. Gina, you really set the tone with the eagle at the par-5th. How surreal was that?
GINA KIM: Oh, gosh, I was not expecting it. I knew I hit a really good shot and I was thinking, oh, okay, maybe I'll tap in in for birdie and then it just disappeared. I think that really set the tone for the day.
Q. You both come from the Epson Tour. Multiple-time winners on Epson Tour. You're able to get it done at that level. How does that help you translate to this level?
GINA KIM: You know, part of the reason I asked Yana to be my partner is we actually played in the final group on Epson and we've played together numerous times, so I knew she was really, really good under pressure and I trusted her.
So shoutout to Epson Tour.
YANA WILSON: Yeah, no, same thing with Gina. I felt really confident obviously picking Gina as my partner. You know, I feel like the Epson Tour kind of paved the way for us just to be comfortable out here. Although it's not really similar in -- you know, there is grandstands you everywhere. It's pretty cool. And so many people. Really just teaches you how to win and be gritty out there.
Q. You had such a great partnership all week. The camaraderie was there all week. What would you attest that great partnership to?
GINA KIM: I think once again, just having the experience of playing with each other under pressure and just knowing each other's games and just having huge respect for it. I mean, the reason why I tried to go for that pin was I knew she was going to be on the green, so...
Q. A lot of nerves obviously coming down the stretch trying to get your first win? What were the nerves like and how were you able to manage them?
YANA WILSON: You know, I haven't been in a leading position for a long time. Even as a team I feel like both of us haven't been in this leading position. I remember we walked down 18 just now and we were like, does this feel weird to you? Like this is so weird. So it's a little nervy out there. I feel like we handled it really well.
Bruce, Gina's caddie was reminding us to breathe the whole time and I feel like that just really helped us.
Q. At halfway through the year now, you're both LPGA winners. How does this change your confidence as you finish the 2026 season out?
GINA KIM: Oh, gosh, I mean, this is a life changer. I came off three missed cuts, three straight missed cuts, so this is definitely changing the trajectory, and excited to go to Meijer for next week.
YANA WILSON: Yeah, this is definitely building momentum, especially going into three majors in like five weeks. So both Gina and I are -- I can speak for her -- I think we're both very excited.
Q. Well, congratulations. Thank you both.
