HSBC CHAMPIONSHIPS

June 13, 2026

Emma Raducanu

London, England, UK

Queens Club

Quick Quotes from WTA Audio

E. RADUCANU/K. Rakhimova

6-3, 7-5

Q. Emma, two women through to the semifinals here at Queen's Club. Virginia Wade was the last British female semifinalist in 1971. How special is it to be alongside Katie, and how much inspiration did you take from her performance yesterday?

EMMA RADUCANU: Yeah, I took a lot of inspiration. I think the way that she overcame Elena, who is an incredible player, top 10, it's really, really amazing, and inspired me to do the same today.

I think the women's event at Queen's, it's been such a privilege to play here. I hope that me and Katie's performances to be in the semis, and all of us performed really well at home, so I'm hoping that this tournament can stay for the women, and I think the crowd like it too.

Yeah, it means a lot to just be in this position.

Q. And a real flavor of the British celebration with the Red Arrows flying overhead and interrupting you?

EMMA RADUCANU: Yeah, it was insane (smiling). It was so nice to see. I couldn't play with that. I mean, I was distracted and in awe of what was going on, and I think the crowd loved it too.

For me, I remember, when I was younger, watching them fly over. But I think to be watching them from this view at Queen's Club, I think it was a fun moment with the crowd and I really enjoyed the interaction.

Q. You've got Iva Jovic next, who's a young upcoming star, very similar to you. She hasn't played a really tough quarterfinal today, and she hasn't hurt her leg either. Tell me about your feeling about the leg and tell me how you're feeling about getting ready for the semifinal.

EMMA RADUCANU: Yeah, obviously it's not easy to double up and play two matches. It's not something I have done before. The fall kind of threw me a little bit.

But I think, if anything, it takes the pressure off. She's been playing incredibly well. She's seeded. She's had a great season so far, and I honestly just kind of started.

Yeah, I think it will be a really tough match, but the support and just this atmosphere is insane, so every opportunity I get to play in front of everyone, I really cherish.
