NBA FINALS: KNICKS VS. SPURS

June 13, 2026

Mitchell Robinson

New York Knicks

Game 5: Postgame

New York Knicks 94, San Antonio Spurs 90

Q. I asked you after Game 1, the one guy who was here for it all, what does it feel like to have this moment, come and finish it?

MITCHELL ROBINSON: Dream come true. I have been here when we had won 17 games, we won 60 games, and to finally be able to get it done in 2026 after all the journey I've been on with the team and stuff like that, it's just been amazing. This is an amazing feeling. I'm pretty sure every basketball player want to feel like this, and we got it.

Q. You kind of summed it up but being the longest-tenured Knick, can you just talk about what you saw here and for it to culminate with the championship, what that means?

MITCHELL ROBINSON: I see the recipe being made to finally get this thing done, you know. Had a lot of great players come through there and stuff like that.

To be a part of this and again to be an NBA Champion, today, it's insane.

Q. I want to know what winning the truck show tomorrow would do for your weekend?

MITCHELL ROBINSON: It would do a lot. And you know what's crazy, yesterday at the hotel I caught a snake, again. I caught -- I caught a snake in the beginning of playoffs when we played Atlanta, we won. I caught one last night and we won today. I think it's something about snakes.

Q. Ariel was just up here. He played two minutes tonight but those were some impactful minutes. Can you talk about how you've seen him stay ready, even though his number wasn't called, to be called in for a game like today and be as impactful as he was today?

MITCHELL ROBINSON: His mindset. Keeping ready to go. Like you just said, got in, two minutes, got a big block and challenging at the rim and we needed it. I got a little bit winded and KAT in foul trouble and he stepped up real big.

For a player to not really get that much playing time and to stay locked like that, that means a lot, you know what I mean. He's going to continue to do his thing.

Q. Jalen Brunson, 45 points in a close-out game on the road, what can you say about Jalen tonight?

MITCHELL ROBINSON: That was unreal, just literally unreal. I'm speechless. I seen it a couple times here and there but to do it in a close out game against a good team like that, it's different. His mindset, he kept us connected and just ready to go.

Q. A lot of guys were asking about the eight years, but it really started four years when Jalen got here. What did you see from when he got here to now in terms of him building everybody up and getting the organization turned around?

MITCHELL ROBINSON: His mindset, his work ethic, his energy that he just brings. You know, he just brings joy, and you know, we need that. You know, when stuff get rough, we have a little sitdown talk and he gets us back on track, like a leader, like a captain. To have him around especially for the last four or five years, it's been truly amazing.

I mean, there's really no words I can really put here but he's just, you know, he just do his thing.

Q. Congrats on title.

MITCHELL ROBINSON: Thank you.

Q. You being the king of offensive rebounds, what was going through your mind on the free throw in the final seconds that you just had to go up and get it?

MITCHELL ROBINSON: Really, that's just something I always do, try to crash. I trust my guys they're going to make it but I'm just going to crash anyway. Luckily I did and I came up with a big offensive rebound right there. Grabbed it, kicked it out and they fouled us again. So we had a chance to shoot two more.

Almost got it again. I'm just going to continue to do it again.

Q. Obviously brimming with excitement right now, any thoughts on what you might feel during the parade itself?

MITCHELL ROBINSON: I just got asked to put my truck in it, so I'm going to be really excited. I'm putting my truck in the parade. Hey, I'm just ready to see what it's like.
