HSBC CHAMPIONSHIPS

June 12, 2026

Katie Boulter

London, England, UK

Queens Club

Quick Quotes from WTA Audio

K. BOULTER/J. Cristian

6-1, 6-3

Q. Well played, Katie. A very dominant performance out here. Into your first quarterfinal here at Queen's. Give us your thoughts on the win and what it means to you.

KATIE BOULTER: Yeah, I felt like I came out really fast, and I think I kind of used momentum from my first match and tried to take it to her, tried to commit to my shots.

I think I did really well in the second to just keep trying to stay composed and not try and play too well and just stay solid. I think I did such a good job today, so I'm very pleased.

Q. How difficult a day was it for you and everyone with all the frustration yesterday, no tennis played. What was that like?

KATIE BOULTER: Yeah, really hard yesterday. I think because I was a little bit later in the schedule, I was able to relax a tiny bit more. I think obviously those who were first on probably found it quite difficult.

Yeah, for me it was just about trying to get some rest, look after my body, and get myself ready for today.

Q. It's your tenth grass court season in pro tennis. What have you learned about this surface over those years?

KATIE BOULTER: Oh, God, that sounds like a big number (smiling).

Yeah, I mean, I do love the grass. I have been here since I was a little girl and I love it here. It's so great. I think playing on the grass, I feel very comfortable, and I think for me it's about just committing to my shots. You can't ease your way into it. You're just going to have to commit and see what comes up.

Q. You're known as such a great gritty competitor on the court. Where do you get that in your character?

KATIE BOULTER: Oh, God. I think that's from my mom and my grandpa, especially my grandpa. He's an incredible man, and I idolize him a lot. He's someone that shaped me as a young girl.

He's always had that strong side to him as well as a gentle side. I'm so grateful to have a role model like that. Yeah, I think it's from him.
