RBC CANADIAN OPEN

June 11, 2026

Adam Svensson

Caledon, Ontario, Canada

TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (North Course)

Quick Quotes

Q. Elephant in the room, you went viral this week, U.S. Open qualifier. Can you walk us through from your perspective what happened and kind of how you're feeling going into the U.S. Open because of it?

ADAM SVENSSON: Yeah, I mean, it was nothing but my fault. I didn't know there was -- we were playing for alternate spots. I had no idea. They just said three for one. And once he made that putt, I just picked it up.

Q. So still hopeful you can get an opportunity?

ADAM SVENSSON: I mean, always hopeful, but I think they do like a draw or something, so you never know.

Q. You're the low Canadian so far, how does that feel?

ADAM SVENSSON: Feels good. Yeah.

Q. Obviously tomorrow all the Canadian fans always wear red for Canada. At the same time, Canada is going to be opening the World Cup in downtown Toronto. Are you excited about the World Cup, are you expecting to see a lot of Canadian jerseys in the crowd tomorrow?

ADAM SVENSSON: I don't follow that too much, but anything to do with Canada, yeah, I'm excited for.

Q. What was working for you today out there?

ADAM SVENSSON: I hit the ball extremely solid. I think I missed one fairway maybe. So I hit it really well off the tee. Just kind of, this golf course is difficult. You got to play -- you got to putt well, got to do everything well, and I feel like I did that today.

Q. What would you say, what is the high point or the difficulty of this course?

ADAM SVENSSON: Well, some spots in the rough are deeper than others, so if you miss it on that side you may not be able to get to the green. Yesterday in the pro-am I hit it in on one of the holes, I could barely get it out of the rough. So just depends where you hit it.

Q. A good prep for the U.S. Open, I would say.

ADAM SVENSSON: Yeah, for sure.

Q. Do you have any sense of the odds of you getting in? Have you been given any insight into that?

ADAM SVENSSON: I don't worry about that too much. If I get in, that's great. If not I'm focused on this week and playing well.

Q. Bogey-free out there, you made maybe a course you said that's playing tough looked kind of easy. Was that as good as you've hit it in awhile, and have you been feeling like this was around the corner?

ADAM SVENSSON: Yeah, I feel like my game's been trending. I wouldn't say it's the best I've hit it, but it's the most solid I've hit it in the wind today. I felt like I hit a lot of pure shots.

Q. The wind -- is the wind, is it unique how difficult the wind can play here compared to some other courses maybe on TOUR?

ADAM SVENSSON: Yeah, a little bit. I feel like it kind of goes down and then into sometimes. I would say it's not as strong as like a Florida wind, as heavy. But it's very difficult judging which way it's coming from, because it goes left, right and then it's coming into you too. So it's difficult.

Q. When you look big picture, how would you describe the way your season's gone?

ADAM SVENSSON: You could say it's not going great, but I've learned a lot over the past year and I feel like I just keep learning and I'm just excited to hopefully start playing some better golf.

Q. You've been playing a long time, what's there still to learn in this sport for you?

ADAM SVENSSON: There's a bunch. Techniques, way to play shots, mental stuff, how to play the golf course, how to prepare, how to practice. There's so much stuff you can learn and get better at.
