NBA FINALS: KNICKS VS. SPURS

June 10, 2026

Keldon Johnson

San Antonio Spurs

Game 4: Postgame

Q. What was the difference in the second half? What changed?

KELDON JOHNSON: We got away from what put us in the position we were in during the first half. That's what it boils down to. They made some shots. They made some runs. It came back to bite us in the end.

Q. What did it feel like in the locker room after the game?

KELDON JOHNSON: It hurts. We gave this one up. It hurts. I think it hurts everybody, from players to staff. We put a lot into it. As much as it hurts, we're still playing. We have 48, 72 hours to get back at it, and I wouldn't want to be with any other guys. I feel like we have a special group. We're back at it, and we believe we can get it done. That's not going to change regardless.

Q. Is this the craziest game you've been a part of?

KELDON JOHNSON: Yeah. It's a tough one, a tough pill to swallow. I feel like we got comfortable and things happen. But I think the main thing is that belief is there. We believe. Our belief is as high as ever. You don't get here without belief, without faith in each other, and that's not going to change now. If it was easy, everybody would do it.

Q. As strong as that belief is, when they were making their run in the second half, was some of that belief tested for a while? Did it rattle you guys in any way?

KELDON JOHNSON: No. I feel like even up to the last buzzer, we believed that we were going to win or that we were supposed to win. When you have a group like us, shots going in, that doesn't waver us. We continue to stay together, and we're going to continue to pull even closer and get the job done.

Q. Any other emotions outside of just the belief? I know you have another one Saturday, but any other emotions that are just kind of on the surface right now?

KELDON JOHNSON: I mean, we're all human. It hurts. We want to win. We're so close, but so far. We're going to continue to do what we do, bring our brand of basketball and correct the things that we can correct going forward. I believe, one through 15, that when we step out there, whoever steps on the court, we're going out there to get the job done.

Q. You guys are now on the brink of elimination in the playoffs. You've seen what a home crowd can do here with the run in the fourth quarter from New York. What do you guys need to see from not only you guys on the floor, but San Antonio in Game 5?

KELDON JOHNSON: Our fans show up every time. They've been showing up since I've been here. I know our fans will be who they are. We expect no less, no different. We go back home and approach it one game at a time, one possession at a time, and get the job done.
