San Antonio Spurs
Game 3: Postgame
San Antonio Spurs 115, New York Knicks 111
Q. Different energy being at home?
JULIAN CHAMPAGNIE: For sure. The energy here is great.
Q. Did you feed off that knowing you’re just a few miles away from where you grew up?
JULIAN CHAMPAGNIE: No, I think I fed off the energy of my teammates more.
Q. In what way were you feeding off their energy?
JULIAN CHAMPAGNIE: My teammates? Well obviously you know, coming in 0-2, we knew that this was a must win. So I feel like, obviously Vic started the game off with a lot of energy, started off well.
Q. Do you think Wemby made more of an effort to take the ball to the rim this game?
JULIAN CHAMPAGNIE: Yeah, I think he made more of an effort to put himself in front of the basket.
Q. As a New Yorker, playing in the Garden and winning this game, how much does that mean to you?
JULIAN CHAMPAGNIE: Yeah, it was super important. Obviously being from here, it feels good to come home and get a W.
Q. This is one of the world’s most famous arenas. How did it feel to play in front of that crowd and steal this game?
JULIAN CHAMPAGNIE: The energy was great, honestly and truly. Going out there, a little star-struck at first. A lot of celebrities around, a lot of energy, a lot of noise. But overall, it was really good. It was fun.
