U.S. WOMEN'S OPEN

June 7, 2026

Allisen Corpuz

Pacific Palisades, California, USA

The Riviera Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. You were in third this week so far in fairways hit off the tee. Were there any swing thoughts going in on the tee with some narrow fairways out there?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, what me and my swing coach have been talking a lot about honestly is my swing is fine. I just get a little quick under pressure. Just trying to be patient with it, kind of just giving the time to take the full swing. Just always get a little short and quick.

I feel like I did a pretty good job of doing that this week.

Q. As somebody who played college in the area and knows the history of the Riv. What's it like to come out here and play a major event like this?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Absolutely. This wasn't a course we played in college. The men's team actually practiced out here and we didn't. Even still, just being in L.A., everyone knows just the history and prestige of Riviera.

I was able to play it twice before this week just to be able to see it before the U.S. Open. It's so cool. Like I was kind of telling my caddie, like I would love just two or three hours to walk through the clubhouse. There's so many pictures and history of a lot of golf's greats. It's just really cool to be here this week.

Q. I talked to Maja Stark about this earlier in the week. She was talking about feeling past champion pressure coming into this event?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: I definitely did in '24 when I was defending. I think every year it gets easier, you get a little more used to the pressure. Especially being in L.A., I feel like I had so many Trojans saying fight on to me. I had a lot of family and friends out this week as well. So that was really special.

Q. A lot of the native kikuya grass this week. Have you had any past experience playing on it a lot, or did it make any difference?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: No. I think we have a few Tour spots that are poa like for the greens. I've always played pretty well on poa. Kikuya is a little bit different.

We have a few that are zoysia as well, which I think is pretty similar, the ball sits way up. Definitely an adjustment. It was awesome having a perfect lie every time you were on the fairway.
