Q. Okay, so this is your second U.S. Open now. You finished amazingly, top 10 this weekend. Any nerves heading into this week? How are you feeling now?

MARIA JOSE MARIN: Yes, there was definitely nerves coming into this week. As I think I've said, this is the biggest stage of golf and you never know what's going to happen.

I had a pretty good experience last year. Of course it's different conditions, way different course. I had high hopes because coming out of Nationals I was feeling really good. My game I feel like was pretty suitable for this course.

Yeah, now that it's done, I'm just really happy with how it ended. I never thought I was going to be top 10. If you told me at the start of the week you're going finish top 10 I would never believe it.

And, yeah, I am just extremely happy how my golf is right now and really looking forward to the other tournaments that I have.

Q. How do you feel your win ANWA prepared you for this week?

MARIA JOSE MARIN: I think it prepared me well in terms of crowds. Towards the end I think you can see people -- you can hear people screaming and cheering and gathering around the greens. It was kind of the same feeling ANWA, everyone supporting. There was a lot of people out there today screaming my name, so it was really nice.

I know there is a lot of Latino community around LA, so it always feels great to represent them, represent Colombia, to represent Mexico, too, because I was born there. Yeah, it was great. I just I'm really happy right now.

Q. That's awesome. You spoke a little bit about the conditions. How was the course playing today? Up to your liking?

MARIA JOSE MARIN: The course played way different from other days. It made -- the greens were harder. They were faster. The wind picked up. I think that's an extremely difficult thing when the wind picks up here. It's already a long course, so it makes those long holes more long than they already are. Short game has to be in its finest. Thank God it was at its finest today with me.

Yeah, I had to be pretty smart out there, just getting myself to good position so making pars, if I had a chance to make a birdie, just go for it.
