THE MODERATOR: Jasmine, great performance today. Happy to get it done in two sets. Just talk about your thoughts on the match.

JASMINE PAOLINI: Yes, I think was a really tough first round. She's playing good, and she won the tournament two weeks ago, so it was a tough first round.

I'm happy the way I managed the tough moments, the way I played, as well. I think I did a good job.

THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.

Q. After your success the last two years on the clay, did you feel like you were putting a lot of pressure on yourself this clay season to do well again?

JASMINE PAOLINI: I don't know. I think I put maybe a little bit of pressure at the beginning of the year on myself, but now I feel more relaxed. I know that I have to find a good level of tennis, and I'm trying to do that.

I think the last couple of tournaments I played better. I mean, I lost with two great players. Baptiste in Madrid, she was playing unbelievable, and Elise Mertens in Rome. So I think my level is there.

I have just to keep going, keep going working, stay focused all the time, because sometimes my focus goes down. But I think today I did a great job, and hopefully I can keep this level for the next one.

Q. We've gotten used to seeing some very spirited exchanges between Sara and you during the matches. I'm curious what that feels like on the court, and is that okay? Is that something you want, having her speaking to you so very emphatically like that?

JASMINE PAOLINI: Yes, I think, you know, sometimes during the match it's nice to have somebody trying to help you, and sometimes, you know, I don't have -- no, depends (smiling). Sometimes in the tough moments, maybe a word or a sentence can help you. We're trying to figure out what kind, you know, of stuff I like and what kind of stuff I don't like.

We are learning. Yeah, I'm happy with that. Yeah, I think she can help me during the matches and before the matches. Yeah, happy to listen (smiling).
