ROLAND GARROS

May 27, 2026

Mirra Andreeva

Paris, France

Press Conference

M. ANDREEVA/M. Bassols Ribera

3-6, 6-1, 6-1

THE MODERATOR: Mirra, tough battle out there, coming back from a set down. Talk us through your thoughts on the match and what you were most pleased about in the end.

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Yeah, not a very good start in the beginning, missing a lot, not taking great decisions on the court, as well, you know, letting my opponent play well as well in the first set.

After, I'm just super happy that it went well in the second and in the third set.

THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.

Q. I'm just wondering, did you play on every court here in Roland Garros? Do they all play the same?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Well, I think I have played almost on every court. I have played on the three stadiums. I have played doubles on Court 14, and then, I don't know, I don't remember, but I played on all of the stadiums, I think.

For me, there is not a lot of a difference, but when I was practicing before starting off the tournament, I felt like Simonne Mathieu, the court I was playing on today, was a little bit more different, so I didn't really want to play on that court. But I feel like it's good that they put me there in the end so I kind of get the feeling of that court as well.

But not a lot of a difference between the courts.

Q. When you're going into a Grand Slam like this, what is your mindset? Do you see yourself like a little bit someone to watch, but you're not one of the favorites, of course, because they are bigger names so far yet? How do you see yourself, in which role?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Well, obviously I feel like now I play well, and, you know, so far I have had a good clay season. I never set any expectations myself about the game or about how I'm gonna play.

But obviously every tournament that I play, I play to win. I think that if I have the right mindset and the belief that I can win or beat, you know, some certain players, I think that I can play very well. But I really try not to focus on, okay, I really want to win this tournament. I'm focusing more on how I want to play a certain match and what I want to do on the court.
