ROLAND GARROS

May 29, 2026

Mirra Andreeva

Paris, France

Press Conference

M. ANDREEVA/M. Bouzkova

6-4, 6-2

THE MODERATOR: Mirra, congratulations for your win today. I know you're excited to get another pin, but how did it feel on court, and how would you evaluate your match today?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Yeah, the match was very tough, very tricky. It's always a tough match against Marie, and she's an amazing competitor, so I'm just super happy that I was able to win in straight sets.

Yeah, just pretty happy with how I played today, especially in the second set. Super happy with this win, and can't wait to play my next match.

THE MODERATOR: Questions.

Q. I was going to ask you about the pins. It's a great idea, isn't it? Could you tell us which ones you have?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Well, yeah, I feel like it's a very nice addition to the tournament, because that's what kind of keeps me motivated, because I want to get more pins.

They said that I could get three different pins a day, so like these ones. I took all of them, everything that they had already. They give us one pin per match that you win, so this is the match number one, two, three, and now advance to the fourth round, so I got this one.

Yeah, I'm just super happy. I wear them proudly, and I hope that, you know, I can get more, more pins, and fill up my credential. Then we'll see.

Q. Which ones did you get at the Olympics as well?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Well, at the Olympics it was just basically, I don't know, whatever -- I didn't live at the Olympic village, so I was not able to exchange pins with other athletes, but the physios in the locker room also gave me some pins.

Then I saw players here in the locker room, they gave me some, I gave them some. So from Olympics I also have full credential with different kinds of pins.

Q. I was also going to ask about the pins. I'm curious, does it make you excited? You don't usually get a little prize for winning a match, a physical prize, for winning a first round, second round match. Is it just cool to have these sorts of little rewards and merit badges along the way?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Yeah. For me, you know, I'm always super excited when the tournament comes up with something like this, something very fun for players.

As soon as the match is over, I'm just super happy, because I know that they're going to give me the pin. That's what kind of keeps me motivated, because I really want to get all different kinds of pins and see which pins they're going to give for the next round, the next round, because I have no idea which colors they're going to be.

That's what kind of, yeah, as I said, keeps me motivated to win more matches here.

Q. I'm sorry, I'm going to ask a non-pin-related questions. I wanted your take on Moise Kouame. You also made quite a run here when you were 17 in 2024. Two questions, what's the most impressive about his game, and what kind of advice could you give him for his next match and to insulate himself from all the pressure and expectations?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: I'll be honest, I didn't actually watch him play for, I don't know, some time. I watched a couple of points.

I watched the super tiebreak of the match that he won yesterday. So, I mean, he's playing very good. He's playing amazing, very aggressive, going for his shots.

I'm actually super surprised that on the tiebreak -- I would get very, very tight. And I think I remember myself playing in 2023, I went through quallies, and I was playing here, and I lost in the third round. But I just remember that every match that I was playing, I was kind of excited, but I was also very, very tight, because I really wanted to win.

Him playing in front of the home crowd and everyone is supporting him, and he's showing such an amazing level. I think that he should be very, very proud of himself and super, super happy about the level that he's showing.

I mean, so far he's playing good, so I think that he kind of deals with the pressure and the expectations pretty well. So, I don't know, I think he has a great, great team around him. I think Richard Gasquet is one of his coaches, so I'm sure that they can give him a lot of different kinds of advices.

I'm not sure if I can help, but I think that his team, he should rely on his team a lot for that one.

Q. Not asking about pins, but I did want to ask about what the hardest part of being a dog owner has been for you on tour? I feel like there are so many dogs at the French Open this year, and I wonder if it can get kind of challenging sometimes?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Yeah, for sure number one thing is not being able to see your dog every time, because you travel. You travel a lot, and you know, sometimes some countries or some tournaments have the policy of no-pet policy.

Sometimes the dog has to stay at home. That's the hardest part of maybe sometimes not seeing the dog for some time.

Whoever stays with the dog, I get the FaceTime, and then I just look at her and say, Hi, look at me, but she's never reacting. For some reason, she just doesn't react to any kind of voices on the phone.

Yeah, I would say that that's the hardest part of not seeing the dog for a lot of time.

Q. Who is looking up all of those different policies and rules, because it's quite a lot to handle? Are you in charge of that?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: It's me and my agent over there. We're doing a teamwork, but I would say that, you know, he's obviously checking a lot and trying to sometimes talk with the hotels or with the tournaments to see. Yeah, he's doing a lot of great work. Credit to him.

Yeah, we do the teamwork, but I'm going to give credit to him. He does most of the work.

Q. I wanted to ask you because the weather is really hot, do you have special preparation, because every little detail counts when you want to survive two weeks and reach the final, win the tournament. What things do you have to take care because the sun is very, very hot?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Yeah, I mean, of course, the heat this year in Paris was not taking it easy on anyone. I don't know. I wouldn't say that I've prepared in any special way differently, or I didn't do anything to prepare myself in a different way.

I was just doing everything as I did before. Good recovery, ice bath, trying not to spend a lot of time outside in the sun as well. But, yeah, I would say that I got pretty lucky. I was not playing at 12 or at 1 p.m. where the sun is very, very aggressive.

I didn't really experience that very, very big heat. So I guess I kind of got pretty lucky this year.

Q. I want to go back to the pins question. I was raised in the United Kingdom, badges. I just wondered, as a youngster, did you used to collect anything else? Has this been part of your character over the years?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Well, before I know a lot of kids collected, like, those mail marks, but I've collected stickers. So that was kind of the thing when we were young with my cousins and with my sister. So even now at home, I have like this album this thick with all different kinds of stickers with, I don't know, cats, dogs, wings. I don't know, whatever. Like those fairies, wings? Okay.

I have those different kinds of stickers at home, and I feel like that's pretty much all I've been collecting so far.

Q. Another question about heat and scheduling. Have you been negotiating a bit more than previous years this year with the tournament organizers to play later, perhaps, or earlier in the day during the hours that are not so warm?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: This year, me personally I didn't talk to the organizers at all. Maybe Conchita did, and I don't know about it, but I wouldn't say that we talked to the organizers, please don't put me first or please don't put me last.

I don't know, I'm pretty easy-going with that. It's easier for me to see the schedule and whenever they put me, I'm, like, okay. I didn't have anything to do with it. I didn't have control over that. So whenever they put me, I will just go on the court and play.
