THE MODERATOR: Well, Luis, congratulations. You've become the first Brazilian to win the juniors title here in Roland Garros. What does this trophy mean to you?
LUIS GUTO MIGUEL: I think it means a lot, for sure. It's a lot of hard work me and my team have put, not only this week, but many, many years ago.
I think everything worked right now, but just really happy. Enjoying the moment, but keep humble, because we have a lot to do yet.
THE MODERATOR: Questions.
Q. Congratulations. It's been a big week for Brazilian players. We talked about Joao the other day. We've seen Gustavo here. Can you talk about your inspirations, your influences, who has pushed you, and who you look up to in your career?
LUIS GUTO MIGUEL: When I was a kid, I was always watching Djokovic playing, but now I'm a big fan of Joao Fonseca. What he's doing is amazing.
Also, what you said, Brazil have amazing history here in French Open. What Guga have made, Fonseca made this week, and now I think I did a little bit more for Brazil right now.
I think Brazil are living a good moment again, and every players are growing up together. That's good, yeah.
Q. You played a great match today with such big energy. I just wanted to get your take on what it was like to play in a big crowd, to have all those Brazilian fans, Brazilian flags? You seem like you're a pro at getting the crowd riled up.
LUIS GUTO MIGUEL: I'm the kind of player that I like to play with the crowd. In Brazil, especially because we are most football country, the crowd is always supporting a lot. I like to play with that, so I just want to thank everyone that cheered for me today.
Yeah, it was a big atmosphere. For sure I wouldn't forget this day, never. I will never forget this day.
Q. The key to the final today, Michael had been in really good form. He'd beaten the Australian Open boys champion. He had a really good semifinal. How did you approach the final playing him? Also, what was, I suppose, the difference for you today in the match?
LUIS GUTO MIGUEL: Yeah, Michael is a big, solid player. For sure he's in the final, so he has confidence as well. I think in the beginning of the match, I was just trying to intimidate him a little bit, just putting winners or something, but he was really solid. Was a bit tough to manage the situation.
But at some point of the match, I think I growed up my level, and I enjoying the opportunities that I had. To close the match wasn't too easy, you know. Always has another feeling, you know, a special feeling on your heart.
But yeah, it was a good match today, great level, and also congrats him to his amazing week. But really happy to get through in this final, yeah.
Q. After your first-round win, you talked about spending a couple of weeks with Joao, last year I think it was. I didn't follow up and ask you, did you get to train with him quite a bit? I know you said he told you to be humble and taught you some lessons off court, but were you on the court together training, and if so, what was that like?
LUIS GUTO MIGUEL: No, I think the only moment that we were together was that two weeks that I told you. But for sure, like I told you, I think in the first day, right, I told you that he sent me a message when I was in the semifinals in U.S. Open. He sent me to, Vamos Guto, keep believing, you got it.
Yeah, we didn't have practice, but we are connected, yeah.
Q. There were a lot of people in your box today. Can you summarize a little bit who was it? Was it coach or family as well? Can you tell me also what is the name of your coach, and what is your background? Where did you start tennis?
LUIS GUTO MIGUEL: Sorry?
Q. Tell me a bit also about your background. Where did you start tennis? I think that you're training in the academy in Brazil now, Fly Sport? Is that correct? Did you ever train here, or did you have another club before?
LUIS GUTO MIGUEL: When I was 14, I'm actually from Goiânia, one city, and I changed to BrasÃlia when I was 14 and training Dumont Tennis Academy with Kiki Grangeiro and Dumont, Santos Dumont.
In the box today was Kiki. Dumont, unfortunately he wasn't here, but for sure he was watching in the TV.
Yeah, the other guy was my fitness coach and my family behind, my friends. Yeah, it was good people around.
