NBA FINALS: KNICKS VS. SPURS

June 5, 2026

Landry Shamet

New York Knicks

Game 2: Postgame

Q. Question about coming out with intensity.

LANDRY SHAMET: Them being down 1-0 at home, they were going to come out and give us their best punch. They did that. Physicality was unbelievable tonight. Incredibly physical basketball game. They do a really good job of that, playing physical. they make you work. We weathered some of their storms tonight, their runs. We stayed steady even through a couple bad possessions and stretches that we’d like to have back. Ultimately, we came out with the win.

Q. To have a 14-point lead, surrender it and then get the W, what does that say about this ball club?

LANDRY SHAMET: Just a resilient group. Can’t react and get too high or low, especially on the road. There’s no room for that. Weather their storm. They played hard and whittled away at that lead, but we found a way to win the game down the stretch.

Q. Question about the Knicks’ bench playing well.

LANDRY SHAMET: Yeah, it’s important. We need everybody. We’ve been saying that. You don’t know who it’s going to be each night or who’s going to come in at a certain situation. Deuce comes in and makes a huge three in the corner. Mitch comes in and gets a big time stop. It’s important.
