Q. Three bogeys but a wonderful stretch of four birdies. How would you assess your round today?

CAM SMITH: Yeah, pretty good. I mean, there's still a little bit of work to do, but it's feeling nice. It's coming in little patches at the moment. Yesterday I struck the ball really nicely and had that little patch today. But it's feeling good.

Q. You talked about trusting and being able to trust your swing again. Which part of your game are you finding the confidence coming back?

CAM SMITH: All of it, really, to be honest. I feel like because I'm hitting it a little bit better, I can be a little bit more aggressive with the putter. They haven't quite started dropping yet, but I've hit plenty of good putts, and it feels like I'm back to my old self, I guess, and being aggressive.

Q. Last week you were in great position going into the weekend, and here you are again in great position going into the weekend. How are you going to embrace the opportunity, balancing that and not getting too ahead of yourself?

CAM SMITH: Yeah, I mean, it's like learning again, I think. It's been so long since I've been in contention. I understand it's not all going to happen at once. Just got to keep putting myself there, putting myself, giving myself opportunities, and one day it'll come.

Yeah, trying to play patient but trying to play really aggressive golf.
