U.S. WOMEN'S OPEN

June 4, 2026

Ana Belac

Pacific Palisades, California, USA

The Riviera Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, Ana, second U.S. Women's Open for you. How does it feel to have a little bit of experience under your belt now? How was the round?

ANA BELAC: Yeah, knew first U.S. Open was very different. It was in 2020 in Houston in December and kind of feels in a way like it's my first one.

You know, like this place is so amazing. I kind of was starstruck coming here the first day. Such a great place, so much history around here. Having watched on TV when the guys play and getting to play top notch course like this is just like an honor.

You know, really enjoyed being out there today.

Q. You already mentioned it a little bit, but long way from Duke. Longer way from Slovenia. How does it feel to be here in LA?

ANA BELAC: I mean, I love this place. We play a lot of LPGA events here so I feel like I've gotten pretty comfortable around the city, around the traffic.

It's always great weather which is always nice. Really predictable what to pack. Yeah, just really great hospitality this week. I think Riviera does a tremendous job with -- we have top notch player dining, all the amenities that players can use, and it just feels really special to be here as a player.

Q. Qualifier obviously. 8-under through two rounds. It's in the past, but can you talk about that a little bit and what it means to be here?

ANA BELAC: Yeah, it means a lot. I've actually -- like I'm always debating if I should even sign up for a qualifier this year because I've never made it through one. Like the first U.S. Open I played was through the Epson Tour exemption.

Like I never really had really luck with Monday qualifiers, I was like, you know, I might as well sign up. I probably would regret it if I don't sign up.

I just went to Naples and tried to enjoy my rounds and got it going pretty well, so now I'm here.

Q. Yeah, and then last one: How did the conditions out there today compare to earlier in the week during the practice rounds?

ANA BELAC: I felt like it was pretty predictable. I tried playing practice rounds early and late to see how the course changes, like seeing if it's different weather conditions in the morning and afternoon.

So I felt like greens are firming up a little bit but nothing like out of the expected. You kind of expect like they're going firm up throughout the week.

So you know, I thought I prepared pretty well the last few days.
