June 4, 2026

Paula Francisco Liaño

Pacific Palisades, California, USA

The Riviera Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. First off, what's it like making your U.S. Women's Open debut at the Riv?

PAULA FRANCISCO LIAÑO: It means a lot. I got to play here before my freshman year, and it became one of my favorite golf courses. So making it here, having the opportunity to play here, I'm just trying to enjoy the moment out there.

Q. This is your first U.S. Women's Open. What's it like playing in this event?

PAULA FRANCISCO LIAÑO: You look around, all you see is your idols since you were a kid. It's just pretty cool to see yourself with them and learn a lot. So that's my goal for this week.

Q. You started off with a birdie on hole 10 today. How big is that to start your round with a birdie?

PAULA FRANCISCO LIAÑO: I was like shaking. I couldn't believe it. It was like a dream start. Yeah, try to stay in the present and just keep having opportunities.

Q. And what were the course conditions like out there today? Are they as hard as advertised?

PAULA FRANCISCO LIAÑO: Yeah, for sure. I think as the afternoon comes, the wind gets a little bit harder and stronger. It definitely was harder at the end. Yeah, I think if you have a great preparation, you can get the hang of it.
