Q. Aphrodite, you just finished your first round. What were some of your impressions after your first day at Riv?

APHRODITE DENG: I think the course is really hard depending on how you play it and what positions you get yourself into. So as long as you're in the fairway and you hit it on the right spot on the green, you should be fine.

Q. Talk about that approach shot on 12. Did you expect that bounce?

APHRODITE DENG: No, I was like hopefully it doesn't bounce into the water or something, and it bounced right next to the hole. So I was pretty happy about it that.

Q. What's your mindset going into tomorrow?

APHRODITE DENG: Just keeping my long game the same and just making sure I keep the ball in the right spots.

Q. Talk to us about John Wood on your bag. How did you get linked up to him? What's that relationship like?

APHRODITE DENG: A friend reached out to John, and I got him on the bag. It's just really cool.

Q. How is that relationship going so far?

APHRODITE DENG: It's working really well. He gets my numbers good off the fairway because there's no rangefinder here, so yeah.
