Q. As always, Bryson, your team is in the lead at even par. How difficult was this golf course today?

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Yeah, it's a mystifying golf course, that's for sure. There's a lot of times where you're just hoping. You hit great shots, and they're just going to not be rewarded at some points in time out here. It's a great test of golf.

Us Crushers love these tough tests of golf, and I think it showed again today. There's a lot of golf left still. Can't be missing those putts like that out there on 18.

But all in all, I was proud of the way I fought. I had some weird things happen --

Q. Let's talk about that. The weirdest thing I've seen happen in a long time.

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: I don't know what happened. I was walking down the 12th hole with a wedge in my hand, and I put it on the toe. You're going to put pressure on it as you're walking down, trying to -- like a cane, in a sense, and the head just snapped on me. The shaft snapped and that was the first time that's happened in a long time.

The only one I can remember was Harding Park, PGA Championship, same thing happened with the driver. I just went down to go tee it up and it snapped on me, as well.

It happens, but that was a weird one. I don't know how to explain it. It cost me a shot. I shouldn't have been there in the first place, but getting up-and-down with a 55-degree out of a downhill lie downslope made it a lot more difficult.

Q. You're kind of at the forefront of this league moving forward and the financial pursuit that we're under. You seem extremely optimistic. Why?

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Well, look, I think this has a lot of opportunity, right, and if somebody sees the plan that Scott and them are putting forward, yeah, I've been helping a little bit behind the scenes, and I think that there's a lot of benefit to capital coming into this league.

I think one of the things people don't realize is the team franchise valuations. We get the top co right and we get what we're doing on the top side right, I think the momentum could be endless for us.
