New York Knicks
Game 1: Postgame
Knicks 105, Spurs 95
Q. What was your mindset in that second half, from rebounds to assists?
JOSH HART: I had a lot of energy – I think I played like seven minutes in the first half. So I knew I had to clean that up and eject energy.
Q. Does this game speak to the Knicks’ grit and what this club possesses in that regard?
JOSH HART: I don’t know. Obviously, that’s a tough team. We were going back and forth. They were up 13 or 15 in the second half, and we just continued to chip away and continued to get stops and play our brand of basketball. We’ve got to learn from this and be better on Friday.
Q. Are you surprised at all with how well the bench has been playing?
JOSH HART: Nothing that those guys do surprises me. Landry (Shamet) has been in the league for what, eight years, just a constant pro. He gets his work in, he watches film, he has toughness. Mitch, same thing, toughness, grit. Deuce, Jose – all those guys have been around the league for a long time. They’re all professionals and they all work on their craft. We have the ultimate trust in those guys.
