NBA FINALS: KNICKS VS. SPURS

June 2, 2026

OG Anunoby

New York Knicks

Media Day

Q. OG, with Wembanyama, they usually have him guard Josh against you guys, linger into the lane. The last time you guys played, that opened up some opportunities for offensive rebounds. How are you managing that when you're often in the corner on those plays?

OG ANUNOBY: Just seeing where the ball's going off the rim, as well as who's guarding me, and going under or over. Also doing it, but managing to try to get back as well. Cutting under, maybe going through the middle. Just seeing where the ball is going from the rim, where the shot is coming from.

Q. OG, what is it like for you to be back at the Finals for the first time since 2019? How do you feel you've grown as a player, but also how is the experience of being back hitting you?

OG ANUNOBY: Oh, yeah, I mean, as a young player last time I was here, so grown a lot on and off the court, and as a player.

It's really cool. The first time it was really cool, but it wasn't the way I would have wanted it. So this time, just happy to be here, happy to be healthy. Just excited for the games to start.

Q. When you look at the Spurs, besides Victor Wembanyama, what is it that makes those guards they have so dangerous?

OG ANUNOBY: Relentless. Always attacking, always getting downhill, creating plays. Yeah, they're a very versatile team, very deep. They have talent all over the court, at all positions. They can all shoot, drive, do everything. And they rebound really well, too. They're getting the rebound, they can push, one-man fastbreak. They can push the pace. They really speed the game up. They do a great job doing that.

Q. You've guarded Wemby a lot when you've played them. Is there anything you can do to prepare to guard a guy that tall, any other player that you can look at, like I guarded him, he's similar, or is he totally unique?

OG ANUNOBY: He's pretty unique. I mean, there's little things like maybe guarding Jokic or Porzingis or Joel. He's different, like you said. He's taller.

Just being aware of where he's at all over the floor. He can do everything. Super talented. Just being aware of him at all times, trying to make it as difficult as possible.

Q. The way you guys have gotten to this point, the 11 straight wins, what does it say about where this group is right now?

OG ANUNOBY: Just that we're in a great rhythm offensively, defensively. We're just really gelling at the right time, clicking on all facets.

Q. You've always been really one of the better corner three-point shooters in the league. What has gone into that? How intentional is it? You and Mikal are two of the best in the league at it.

OG ANUNOBY: I mean, first of all, a lot of practice, a lot of shots. I mean, it opens up the floor. Us being in the corners, spreads the floor open. Great release valve for the offense.
