Quick Quotes
Q. Joining us after the final round of the ShopRite LPGA is Cassie Porter. Cassie, you've been playing some really strong golf this year. Do you feel like you're trending in a good direction or having some confidence?
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah, I think I'm trending. Been struggling with a few challenges out there on the course I think mentally mostly. You know, I've really struggled to finish the week off recently, so it's really nice to just have a nice Sunday; make up for yesterday.
Obviously it was windy, but, yeah, it's really nice finish the week on a good note.
Q. How do those finishes like this make you more prepared heading into events in the future?
CASSIE PORTER: I think it makes the flight home a little bit easier. In the future I think you can draw from the positives on a Sunday if you play good.
I had a -- I think I had a good Sunday at Fortinet too, so it's been nice to draw off those good experience and try and learn from that, but learning from the bad ones, too. So always learning.
Q. You were a rookie last year so you're now in your second season.
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah.
Q. How do you feel like you're able to maybe plan better or any changes that you've seen in your approach with it being your second season on Tour?
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah, I think it's easy to plan flying a stuff. Feel like I've seen every airport in the United States now, so just knowing where to fly, where to stay, that makes such a big difference out here. Where you stay during the week is a big part of the week, so I think that's made a big difference.
Golf-wise just knowing what to expect. There has been a few courses this year though so it feels like I'm kind of a rookie again.
Yeah, love it. I love learning. I love the challenge out here. It's forever a challenge, but we try and conquer it occasionally.
Q. And then we're about at the halfway point of the season.
CASSIE PORTER: That's crazy.
Q. Yeah. Were there any goals or ideas that you had heading into the season that you feel like you're achieving or working towards?
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah, I mean, this year I wanted to be top 80 in the world. I think I did that a couple weeks ago.
So obviously being a golfer my goals change, but I think just one of my goals was to get into U.S. Open; that didn't happen.
But my next goal is CME, so I'm just going to make as many points as I can, try and get there. Because obviously that's a tournament we all want to play and want to win, so, yeah.
That's probably my main one.
