SHOPRITE LPGA POWERED BY WAKEFERN

May 29, 2026

Celine Boutier

Galloway, New Jersey, USA

Seaview Hotel & Golf Club, Bay Course

Quick Quotes

Q. Joining us after the first round of the ShopRite LPGA powered by Wakefern is Celine Boutier. Celine, really strong round today. You've been playing some good golf all season. Could you just talk a little bit about coming out here and opening with a strong 66?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, very happy with my round. I definitely feel like I got off to a strong start and had a few birdies on my front nine, which was helpful. Feel like I hit it close a few times and had a few chances; was able to be pretty comfortable out there.

Then was kind of windy on the back nine but was able to hold on, so pretty satisfied with my round.

Q. Been a lot of people talking about the greens and how hard it is to make putts obviously. What do you think is the key out here? Do you think it's the greens? Hitting fairways?

CELINE BOUTIER: I feel like definitely have to make putts in general. I feel like this week a little bit more just because it's a little bit shorter and then you have a lot of chances, but I try not to put myself too much pressure on myself on putting.

I think it's a little bit bumpy, so sometimes you can't really control where the ball is going to go. But I'm trying to just hit it online and just see what happens.

Q. You won this event in 2021. (Regarding coming back/memories.)

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, I feel like it's a good course. I feel very comfortable on it. I think it's very pretty with the views.

And then it gets pretty windy, so I kind of like that challenge as well. I think it can be scorable if you're hitting good shots, so I think it's fair that way.

I definitely feel like playing good is a plus. Also bringing the memories and good shots that I remember hitting from the past years.
