Quick Quotes
Q. Michael, 66 today, sort of a roller coaster for you, if we can get some comments on your play.
MICHAEL BRENNAN: Yeah, I played solid. I hit some really nice irons on the back nine, which was nice to see. Have kind of been struggling with a little bit of the control for the first half of this year. Haven't had as many looks as I would like. It was tough to start out, I was 1-over through 3, but I felt like we hung in there well. We had 150-yard 9-iron, a chippy 9, I think four or five times today, just kind of weird how that happened, I started hitting some good ones on the back nine.
Q. Your debut appearance here at Colonial. What are you finding about this course and what's important here?
MICHAEL BRENNAN: I love this place. I played a college tournament out here a couple times, so pretty familiar, even though it is my first Charles Schwab. But it's just a really great golf course. It's not overly long, but it's still tough and the scores are never super, super low out here, which I like. So looking forward to a couple more rounds on a great golf course.
Q. Describe your season for us up to this point and what your expectations are for the rest of the way?
MICHAEL BRENNAN: Yeah, it's been good and bad. I think I've had bits where I've been very happy to see some improvement. It's been pretty frustrating, I made some changes, added a couple coaches, a new caddie, so just going through kind of a little bit of a transition period and hoping that we're kind of on the way out of it right now.
Q. Having said that, how excited are you for the next two days being in contention?
MICHAEL BRENNAN: Yeah, I'm really excited. Hadn't really felt it all year, had a lot of pressure to make cuts because I feel like I've just been hovering around that number. But it's great to be in a position, like coming down the stretch today, where I wasn't really too concerned about it and just trying to make as many birdies as I could.
