LIV GOLF KOREA

May 29, 2026

Cam Smith

Gijang, Busan, South Korea

Asiad Country Club

Ripper GC

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Let's welcome to the media center Cam Smith, captain of Ripper GC. 2-under 68 today, currently at 5-under for the tournament, three back from the lead. What kind of test has this course provided through two rounds?

CAM SMITH: A good test. You have to hit it in the fairway to be able to control your ball into the greens. The rough is not that long, but just got absolutely no control out of the rough. Then the greens are quite firm, as well. Very tricky test but a good one.

Q. In recent weeks, your scoring has really seemed to be in form. How are you feeling about the state of your game currently?

CAM SMITH: Yeah, pretty good. Today I didn't hit it my best. I hit a few squirrelly drives. It seems like the confidence is back, and seeing a few putts go in. Just really keeping up momentum. If I need to hit the fairway, I kind of feel like I can, and give myself opportunities for birdies, which has been the problem.

Q. How much did that top 10 finish at Aronimink mean to you in terms of moving forward with the game?

CAM SMITH: Yeah, it was good. I think it just solidified what we're doing technically, and being able to go out there and give it a nudge on Sunday and feel comfortable was good. I wasn't really expecting that on Sunday there.

It was massive for my confidence. It's what I needed. I'm not naïve to think that there's still not a long way to go because I think there is.

Q. Talor called this a shot maker's course. I assume you would agree with that, and I would assume that would be a course you would think you would do well on?

CAM SMITH: Yeah, I think you definitely have to move the ball both ways, particularly off the tee. Like I said, I feel like hitting fairways this week is more important than most weeks, given how the greens are and how the rough kind of just jumps and does some crazy stuff on the green. Feels like it's never going to slow down.

Definitely off the tee, you have to move it both ways, 100 percent.

Q. I saw you guys got together to watch rugby last night. Have you guys also gotten out to the city and explored and maybe done something interesting?

CAM SMITH: Not really, to be honest. We've had a couple of nights of Korean barbecue, which has been unbelievable. Had some really good food here so far. Yeah, the belly is definitely full.
