Quick Quotes
Q. Andrew, 6-under par 64, bogey-free, can we just get some comments on the day.
ANDREW PUTNAM: Yeah, it was a very strange round. I mean, my playing partners when we were in scoring they said, Great 6-under. I didn't really see that out there, I was all over the place, kind of in some weird spots. But my scrambling was great, as people have mentioned, 7-7. So kind of hung in there and made the most of the good shots.
Q. Talk about your birdie on 9, your last hole here, you had a putt, you decided to putt instead of chip from 33 feet. Can you talk about your decision there?
ANDREW PUTNAM: Yeah, I was like probably two feet into the fringe and just a little bit of indecision knowing whether I should chip it over or putt it. I've been putting so well today I just figured why not just take the putter and keep it going.
Q. Your ninth time playing here, what have you learned over the course of the years getting to see through the renovations and how the course is now?
ANDREW PUTNAM: Yeah, it's one of those courses you got to hit a lot of fairways. You got to stay patient because there's a few tricky holes. It fits my game pretty well. I've always loved coming here, it's one of my favorite tournaments, so I always circle it in the calendar as a big event for me. I love it. Yeah, you got to hit shots and pretty much tests all part of your game.
Q. Tied for the lead, but just the first day, what's the game plan?
ANDREW PUTNAM: Going to hit the range to try to figure out the swing a little bit. I need to drive it a little better the rest of the week to stay in contention.
