Pit Lane Interview
Q. Ty Gibbs comes home in the sixth position. At one point your crew chief electing to take you out. Thinking back on that, had you come down pit road, do you think a different ending for you and the team?
TY GIBBS: I want to say my condolences to Samantha, Brexton, and Lennix, and I want to let them know we were all there for them.
It was unfortunate. We were in first the worst time you can be in first, and everyone was the opposite on strategy. That's just what happened. I think, if we would have pitted, everyone would have stayed out.
Just unfortunate how that worked out. I thought we could have won the race. We were really capable at doing it. Got the lead at the end, and just unfortunate.
I want to say thank you to my team, Monster Energy, Hilton, my trainers, Johnny O'Mara and Oakley and everyone that helps me out. Fans were sick. Just go on to the next one.
Q. The Charlotte oval is back in the chase. Thinking about that and how strong your car was today, how optimistic does that make you when we return here in the fall?
TY GIBBS: Yeah, I'll kick their ass when we're back here in eight months. It will be good.
