Q. Jesper, with a 9-under 63 in the first round, how would you describe that round? It's pretty solid, right?

JESPER SVENSSON: Pretty solid, yeah. Golf's a funny game. Woke up this morning not even knowing if I could play. My neck was hurting really bad. I spent a good amount of time in the morning trying to get that going.

Just kept playing on the range and then going out to shoot 8-under. Golf's a funny game.

Q. I was glad you mentioned that. Did you see the scores in the morning and were you surprised at how low they were, and also were you surprised you actually got finished this afternoon?

JESPER SVENSSON: I looked at the forecast going out thinking we might be getting seven holes in. So that's a huge bonus just finishing the day as well.

Q. Do you feel like you're in good shape now, obviously playing early tomorrow, to maybe get out there and get a finish? There's still a threat of weather in the afternoon.

JESPER SVENSSON: Yeah, it's -- I think -- I haven't seen the weather, but yeah, I think it's going to be great to get out early in the morning. Hopefully pick up where I left off.

Q. What did you feel like you did especially well today?

JESPER SVENSSON: Putting was great. Made a lot of good putts. The approach was really solid as well, something that I've been trying to put a lot of time into the last couple of weeks. Yeah, it felt great with a good score.

Q. This is your first trip here, right? You hadn't seen the course previously?

JESPER SVENSSON: I played it last year.

Q. Oh, you did?

JESPER SVENSSON: Yeah, but it feels like you're coming to a new place with the greens. It's been quite a grand remodeling.

Q. What sort of impression has it left on you so far after this first round?

JESPER SVENSSON: You've really got to hit your zones to get some good looks. You can definitely leave yourself in some pretty funny spots with how undulated the greens are.

Q. What's your frame of mind at this point in the season? I know it's been a tough season for you. Good tournament in Puerto Rico, and you made a cut in Texas, of course, in another event. What's been your frame of mind coming in here this week?

JESPER SVENSSON: I think I've been struggling a little bit this season. I've been really trying to work on some parts. Last year I made a lot of cuts but finished not great, which for ranking isn't really what you want. So I've been really trying to hit the shots that's required this year. I missed most cuts by a couple shots, which has been quite frustrating.

Yeah, I hope to turn that around here.
