Quick Quotes
Q. Great run, a lot of birdies today. They just got one more birdie. Just talk about the match.
CRAIG LONG II: We played really, really well. Sorry, I'm still a little in shock.
Q. I get it.
CRAIG LONG II: I think -- I don't know how many birdies we made, but I know I made at least six.
Q. I believe you guys were 6- or 7-under today.
CRAIG LONG II: Yes, which is pretty amazing. The margins are thin, you know. I don't really know what else to say. We tried really hard.
Q. William, this experience of playing with your brother this week, you guys weren't even in the field -- you were thinking about the state tournament 12 days ago, and here you guys are with a bronze medal.
WILLIAM LONG: Yeah, it's kind of surreal. Just to get the opportunity to play with him is pretty crazy. Especially to make it this far is pretty cool. We played some great golf today. Struggled a little bit, but just how it is sometimes.
Q. What did you guys find out about yourselves and your games this week that maybe you thought you didn't have?
CRAIG LONG II: Yeah, the one thing that I remember learning was like you don't -- like a lot of golf is just not about the golf swing at all. I feel like I've learned that like five times over.
Like really, like the margins out here are can you hit the right number, and then it bounce to the pin. Or can you pick the right cut off the tee? Or can you just hit the fairway? Like however you can.
Like the 8th fairway, I was like 1 for 6, but that's what I learned.
WILLIAM LONG: I just learned that you're always -- especially in match play, you're always in it. Especially with like a lot of holes to play, there's no reason to kind of kick yourself out of it. That's really important.
Q. Now you guys have a two-year exemption and you get to come back. No alternate status the next two years, no qualifying, grinding. What's that going to be like when you know you've got a spot?
CRAIG LONG II: It will be fun. I don't know, I've been playing golf with William since I was 11 years old. To do it at the highest level is one of the greatest joys of my life probably.
Q. It's pretty special, whether it's with your dad or with your brother.
CRAIG LONG II: Not my dad. He doesn't play golf, but with William.
Q. There is a father-son this week. It's a special thing when you can do it with your sibling.
CRAIG LONG II: I don't know if we want pops on the team.
